Nearly 500 Kofax customers rely on Kofax RPA for process automation, data syndication, mobile-enablement, cloud, web and desktop app integration, content migration, business intelligence, terrorism tracking, comparison pricing and more. The software integrates well with other Kofax products and therefore can be extended to fit with all our customer needs.

This position of Sales Engineer to primarily support this product line is to help Kofax customers understand how our products can solve their business needs through various means described below, in order to help Kofax obtain the technical win and become the vendor of choice for each opportunity that is worked.

Key Responsibilities:

The position is focused on pre-sales activities related to selling and deploying Kofax Kapow solutions in the RPA and data integration business.

The pre-sales tasks will typically be:
  • Giving presentations
  • Preparing standard and custom demonstrations for Kofax Sales Account Executives and resellers Position how Kofax fits in the customers' IT architecture
  • Leading or assisting with Proof of Concepts
  • Answering RFI/RFP’s
  • Providing implementation recommendations
  • Helping to empower others within and outside of the organization to also become product experts


Job Requirements

  • Good communication skills and ability to differentiate your message depending on the audience.
  • Ability to work well with others with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Good HTML, HTTP and JavaScript skills
  • Technical proficiency within at least one of the following technologies: Java, .Net
  • Technical proficiency with SQL and experience with using at least one database platform (e.g. MySQL, SQLServer, Oracle, etc).
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Applications.
  • Basic Linux (preferable RedHat and/or Debian) know-how.
  • Be able work systematically and creatively at the same time.
  • A relevant academic degree: BA or MS in Software Development or similar, MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a software development position, and 3 years’ experience in a pre-sales capacity.
  • Skills in the Robots Processing Automation industry is a plus.
  • Assist in maintaining a professional customer environment with positive customer satisfaction
  • Make a concerted effort to stay abreast of technological advances and Kofax’s industry overall

All Kofax Sales Engineers regardless of title must possess the following skills and knowledge:
  • Communications/Listening Skills

(Internal & external) – including but not limited to professional writing, problem escalation, and good analysis skills as outlined below.
  • Analysis/Discovery (ROI) -

Ability to plan for and conduct an Interview with the prospect and/or customer to determine the true business requirements to help build a valid Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Sales & Presentation Skills

Professional presentation skills and experience in team selling, solution selling methodologies, and an understanding of and ability to utilize the Kofax Sales Process
  • Time Management

Ability to manage projects including preparation for presentations and demonstrations, training, scheduling, and reporting, and expense processing. This is critical to the success of the sales opportunities as the Sales Engineer will be required to manage multiple sales campaigns at any given time.

A high level understanding of each of the suites that constitute the Kofax product line and the ability to fit the pieces together into the whole strategy - By stating the requirement for ‘a high level understanding’, it is defined as the ability to:
  • Position the Kofax Solution
  • Understand the components that make each the solution and why
  • Define target markets
  • Explain the business value/value proposition
  • Describe sample use cases
  • Describe reference customers
  • Position and differentiate each solution from the other Kofax technologies
  • Identify and Qualify potential opportunities
  • Understand the applicability of the technology i.e. where the solution is a good fit and where it is a bad fit
  • Deliver high-level presentation and associated demonstrations
  • Understanding of the underlying technology concepts.
  • Differentiate new product from current product


Required Experience

The qualified applicant must have excellent people skills, communication and negotiation skills along with the ability to perform professional presentations and demonstrations.
